Registration Questions
1. What is a virtual race?
Racers do not meet for this event. You will run your race distance in the location of your choosing, time yourself and submit your finish time. We will ship your t-shirt & finisher gift to the address you registered with, after the conclusion of the official race date.
2. What is included?
Registration Includes: A themed Finisher’s gift, a past years (2015-2021) Race T-Shirt and your Finish Time in the Results.
3. When do I receive my race shirt and finisher’s gift?
Race T-shirt and finisher gift will be mailed to the address you registered with, after the conclusion of the official race date.
4. When do I have to complete my race and submit my time?
You are able to run your race and submit your time as soon as you are registered until the official date of the race. The final (last) day to submit race times is the official date of the race at 11:59 EST.
5. Where do I submit my finish time?
Under the Results tab on RunSignUp for the race you registered for. A specific link will be emailed to you. You can, also, click on the ‘Submit Times Here!’ button on the appropriate race page at runmichigancheap.com.
6. What is the difference between 5k & 5k Walk?
The 5k walk is only walking. For a 5k you can run, run/walk or walk the course.
7. What does the themed design look like?
Images of the themed design* may be posted to the Facebook page and on the appropriate race tab on runmichigancheap.com.

8. Why didn't I receive a registration confirmation email?
If the registration went through and your account has been charged you should have received an email. Make sure to check your SPAM folder or junk mail for an email from RunSignUp.
If you still can’t find it, follow these steps (1) Log into your RunSignUp account (2) Go to your Profile (3) See your events under Upcoming Events (4) Click on Resend Confirmation.
If you are still unsure you can email us at runmichigancheap@gmail.com with your name and event and we will check the registration list.
9. Can I transfer or switch my bib/registration to another person?
No.
10. I recently incurred an injury and still want to compete, but not at the current distance. Can I drop down to a shorter distance?
Yes. Please, email us your name, event name, your current race distance and the distance you would like to switch to.
11. I am entered in the race but recently incurred an injury and will be unable to compete. Can I defer my participation to another race or get a refund? Can I transfer my bib to someone else?
You may transfer to a different event (within the current race season/year) at least a week before your original race for $10. If you switch to an event that is more expensive you will need to pay the differences as well as the $10 transfer fee. We do not offer refunds. No refund for shorter event. We do not allow bibs to transfer from person to person.
Transfers from the In-Person Race option (if available) to the Virtual Race option must be made at least a week before the race.
If you register for the Virtual Race option, you will not be able to check in day of race and compete in-person.
12. If I can no longer participate, can I get a refund?
As with any sports or entertainment event, we do not offer refunds. We require you to accept our refund policy in order to complete the registration process for all of our events and you are given 15 minutes on RunSignUp to clear your registration should you choose to cancel.

2. Do participants receive a race bib?
No. Virtual races do not need a race bib to be worn. Digital Bibs may be available for download by going to your RunSignUp Profile > Upcoming Events Tab > View Digital Bib. Click HERE for the RunSignUp article providing instruction on how to find your digital race bib.
3. Is there a course time limit for participants?
No. Virtual races do not have a time limit!
4. What is the course?
There is no official course. You are able to race your distance anywhere you choose!
5. Are Virtual races chip timed?
No. Virtual races are not chip timed.
6. It is going to rain on race day. Is the event canceled?
No. Since racers are competing in a virtual race which can take place in any location, weather may be vastly different. Use your sound judgment. You are able to complete the race before the official race date. However, if you wait till the official race day and weather becomes hazardous, please email us, and we can work out an arrangement.
7. Can I use roller blades, scooter or bike?
No, the races listed (unless otherwise noted) are run/walks. These items are all strictly prohibited from the race course.
8. Can I use headphones or earbuds when racing?
We recommend you do not wear them during the race. Runners' ability to hear and react to situations is very important. Your safety is always our topmost concern. Wear at your own risk.
9. Can I wear an action camera during my race?
For the safety of both participants and spectators, we discourage the use of action cameras and selfie sticks while on the course.

Race results are posted on RunSignUp to the specific race you registered for.

If Finisher Certificates are enabled for the race there are two ways to view them.
1) Go to the race Results page and select your name > click on Certificate > Finisher Certificate

2) Log into your RunSignUp account and go to your Profile > click on Results > finding the registration result that you are looking for, and click View Finisher Certificate
